Embers Community

Embers is a place for the people who stand behind wildland firefighters - the wives, husbands, partners, mothers, fathers, children, family and friends who live in the quiet space between calls, seasons, and long stretches of worry.

As the wife and mother of wildland firefighters, I know firsthand what this life asks of us. We carry the weight of uncertainty, the pride, the fear, the resilience, and the loneliness that often goes unseen. While our loved ones are on the line protecting communities and landscapes, we are at home holding everything together - families, emotions, routines, holidays, and hope.

Embers exists because we need each other. Without embers, a fire will go out. Embers hold warmth and light at home. They are the ones that firefighters need so that they can endure and process all that they go through during the season.

This platform is a space for connection, understanding, and support among those who get it - the sleepless nights, the missed milestones, the constant mental check-ins, and the strength it takes to love someone who is often not with you and runs toward danger. Here, you don’t have to explain why you feel the way you do. You’re already understood.

Like embers left glowing after a fire, this community represents the quiet strength that remains - steady, warm, and enduring. Embers is where we gather to share stories, offer encouragement, ask hard questions, and remind one another that we are not alone.
